The history of CEGEPs described as an institution created from the State’s adaptation of the capitalist system. Fictional scenes retrace the key moments in the evolution from the "collège classique" to the cégep. It shows the collusion between Church and State, and the school system’s adaptation to the need for specialized labour by the marketplace. After the student protests during the 1970’s, the "establishment" feared that the technical sector had been contaminated by the general sector and by teaching philosophy. The document sheds light on the repression endured by students who were opposed to the division between the sectors, and who demanded free tuition.
